I'm extremely sorry this is so late. My computer is dead which means I have to loan computers now. Life has been crazy and busy lately, but in a good way. :)
First I suppose I should talk about my trip to Copenhagen the weekend of February 25-27! My host mom and I left on Friday the 25th and arrived in Copenhagen that late afternoon. We just relaxed, ate dinner, and chatted for a while with my three other host brothers. The next day my host mom and I set out into the city to do some sightseeing that we didn't get to do last time. First we met up with her sister and walked to the 'Rundetårn.' This is a tall, round tower that tourists can walk all the way up to the top where you can see over all of Copenhagen! That was really exciting, and scary! Afterward, I went to the main square to meet up with a couple friends and helped with a Rotary End Polio Now rally. We went back to the apartment and just relaxed and had coffee. After dinner we walked over to the Forum where the We Will Rock You Queen musical was to be performed!! That was so exciting and the music, of course was really good. Two of the actual band members were there to help play the music!!
At around mid-day on Sunday, we left Copenhagen and headed home. We made a stop near Vejle to visit my host mom's mother's grave. After setting flowers by the tomb stone, we drove just a minute over to her aunt and oncle's house for some coffee and hygge. Afterward, we continued the drive home.
Spring has arrived here in Denmark, which means a mixture of sunshine, rain, and the last of the random snow storms. I thought weather in upstate New York was bipolar...
The next week was fairly uneventful, until Friday when I finally decided that I would go to strength training with my host brother and his friend. Bad idea? I thought the next day, as I limped down the stairs. But it's actually quite fun going with them. With their help, I lift 30 kilos in squats, 80 kilos in dead lift, and 60 kilos in bench press. (multiply kilos by 2 to get approx. weight in lbs). :D It's been interesting to learn a new program of lifting weights from what I used to do last year. I am now planning on going to training three days a week! That night, my host mom, dad, brother, sister and I sat around the dinner table playing a good-hearted card game of røvhul. I won't bother translating that... It involved a lot of name-calling and picking on eachother!
The next day, on Saturday, it was my host dad's birthday, so I went out with my host dad, sister, and brother for dinner and bowling. I definitely had a good last weekend with my second host family!
On Sunday I hitched a ride with Una, the other exchange student living near Skive, to a Rotary welcome meeting. This was for the exchange students who arrived in January. Except for the (boring) lecture, which all the oldie students have already heard, it was a great opportunity to meet the newbie students in our district!
Once again, school. Not much happened until Wednesday when I started packing. Friday I went to training after school, then came home and helped my host mom make dinner. The last dinner with my second host family. Saturday, yesterday, I left at about 10:45 am to my new home. As I walked out the door, my host brother stood there eating a banana, a very familiar sight. xD It was kind of a weird, sentimental moment. That's how I'll remember him by I guess. Although I will still see him at training.
So! I am now moved in to my new host family in Skive! After I arrived, I was shown around the house, met my new host brother, finally, and unpacked my stuff. That afternoon, around 4pm, my new host mom and I walked to the sports gymnasium with the dog. There, my new host dad, sister, and brother played badminton. My new family is crazy about badminton! And they're really good at it. After they were done playing, we and some of the other team members sat around and talked. It was hyggelig! We had dinner a while after coming home. I was extremely tired out from carrying all my bags out of my old house and into my new one, so after dinner I took a shower, watched part of a movie, and then fell right asleep.
I was able to go on a car ride with my new host dad today so I know the area where I live now. I will be nice to be able to bike most places! It has already been a completely different experience from my first two families. Up until now, I lived on farms, way out in the middle of nowhere almost. Now I live right near downtown Skive! I'll finally get to experience the city life! ;)
The next few months are filled with exciting plans as spring time is now here. Easter break in April, a trip to Esbjerg, Eurotour in May, a Limfjord cruise in June, and visits to Copenhagen, Legoland, and eel fishing!
On a side note, my 365 project blog is postponed until I find a way of uploading my pictures, since I can't use my computer. :/
Happy Spring! :)

February and stuff!
It was a week before introcamp and time to meet the new exchange students. I was extremely excited because it meant new friendships with more people from around the world. Unfortunately, all the oldie students then received an e-mail explaining that anyone who was not invited to the introcamp would not be allowed to visit. If we were to break the rules and visit anyway, they would send us right back to our host families. Sooo, needless to say I did not end up meeting all the new exchange students.
However, last Saturday, February 12, Skive had a visit from a new exchange student who is currently living in Esbjerg. Her name is Amy and she's from Australia. She's really sweet and fun, but it was weird speaking English again! I really learned to be bilingual as I had to remember to speak English to her and then when I turned to speak to her host parents, switch to Danish. We had lunch, then I showed her around Skive, the shopping street and ice skating. It was a lot of fun meeting her and helping her skate as it was only her second time! Then we had dinner and my host brother and his friend picked me up.
This past week was winter break for students in Denmark. On Monday I went to Skive with a friend. We went to a cafe, then hung out at her house for a while before going to a Rotary 'Inner Wheel' meeting. I slept over at her house and then went home the next day. The rest of the week wasn't very eventful, but then on Thursday I went to Aalborg to say goodbye to an exchange student who had to go back to Brazil early. She didn't say why, just things happened at home and she wanted to be there. After that I came home and my host dads two brothers and their wives came for dinner. They are really nice and it was a great time talking to them. On Friday I just spent most of the day cleaning and relaxing, and that night I went to a birthday party for one of my classmates. It was a lot of fun seeing my classmates again and hearing about their vacations!! The very next morning, I went with my host brother to his weight lifting competition. The ride there and back was not so fun, squeezed in between two of his friends in his tiny car for about an hour. And weight lifters are not little people! But the actual competition was interesting. There were three parts, dead lift, bench press, and one other which I can't remember the name of. Unfortunately my brothers team didn't win anything, but I thought they did quite well. We got home at about 5pm, so it was a fairly long trip. But it was fun hanging out with them! The only down sides to this past week were losing my cell phone and my computer dying. Ooooh well.
So winter break ends today. I have many chores to do before I go back to school. Then this weekend I'm going to Copenhagen again with my host mom. We're visiting my three other host brothers again, but on Saturday we're going to see We Will Rock You, a Queen musical!!! I am super excited for that!!! We will leave on Friday and come back Sunday.
February has come and is almost over. I try not to think of what that means- how long, or not so long I have left here in Denmark. I have about two more weeks with my current host family and then it's on to my third and final family. I think the hardest part of exchange is changing families. I hate saying goodbye, even if it's just for a little while. I am excited, though, that I'll be living right in Skive at my next house!
Well, I have to log off now and get my chores done. :P

Movies and church
In recent days, I have been picking up with after school activities. I'm starting volleyball this week, which is exciting because I had been hoping to find somewhere to play for a long time. I'll have to stick with the beginners, but that's okay! :)
One thing I was very disappointed to find out was that they aren't allowing oldies to come to the introcamp, so I'll have to wait until the next get together to meet them. :/
Other things I've been up to. Going into town with a couple friends afterschool. Friday nights are movie nights! Unfortunately, burnt popcorn doesn't taste very good..... :P
Yesterday (Sunday), okay it was weird. My host brother, his friend, and I all went to church. The Danes rarely go to church, only for Christmas, conformation, and maybe Easter and weddings. So it was kind of random when my host brother was like, 'let's go to church!' XP It was fun, though, because we were about an hour early, so we just drove around Skive and just fooled around before going back to attend church. Quite an event!
So, coming plans include volleyball, going to Copenhagen over winter break and then again with my host mom to see a Queen musical!

København/Copenhagen
So it's Copenhagen weekend with my host mom and brothers! On Friday, my host mom and I made the 5 hour drive to my host brother, Thomas' apartment. Since it was already about 6:30pm, my other host brother, Johan, started right away with cooking dinner for us. My 3rd host brother, Anders, came over with his girlfriend as well, so it was certainly a full apartment!! We all ate dinner and just talked and had a great time together.
So the next day, today, we had many plans for things to see and do! First, Anders came over and we took the bus and metro over to Amalien Borg where the royal family lives. Every day at noon, they have a 'guard switch,' where a new group of guards come and take over the shift and the others can then go home. It was very, very, very exciting!!!!! We picked a really good spot to stand so we could easily see the event. First, the band came marching into the square, all in formation playing music. Then the new guards came marching in and they marched all the way around the statue and back again. There were many other things that happened, and it was a long process- about an hour. Once they were done with the official changing of the guards, I got the chance to get a picture next to one, like a true tourist! :D
Right after the ceremony, my host mom and I went into the museum of Queen Ingrid, a former queen of Denmark. We saw her possessions, dresses, gifts that were given to her, and many pictures of her and other royal families. After that museum, we walked straight to the Danish Museum of Art and Design. There, we saw art, crafts, and design dating back to the 1400s. There was so much to see there and it was quite interesting! When we left that museum, we walked out to the harbor to see the Little Mermaid! That area was absolutely gorgeous. There are many statues and beautiful old buildings. However, it was extremely foggy, so it was hard to see anything far away. :/ Still beautiful, though!
So tomorrow we have a few more plans. (Actually only one- Starbucks!!!) A while back, I mentioned to my host mom that the only Starbucks in Denmark is in the airport in Copenhagen, and oooh how I miss Starbucks!! Wellll, my host mom is incredibly nice and said she would take me there while we are here this weekend! So before we leave to drive home tomorrow, we are going to Starbucks, then to a gift shop so I can get myself an 'I <3 CPH' tee-shirt. :) That's all we have planned so far for tomorrow, but they are definitely some nice plans. ;D
I will put up a few pictures here from my trip sometime tomorrow or Monday, and the rest will go on Facebook. :)

New Blog and plans plans plans!!
Hej!
I have recently created a new blog titled A Year in Photographs! Check it out!!
And so I am once again about to have a busy schedule coming up filled with some exciting activities! Next weekend I'm headed to Copenhagen again with my host family to visit my host brothers and possibly do some sightseeing. I mentioned the Starbucks at the airport, soooooo..... :) Anywho, I hope to meet up with my friends for a bit as well.
The next weekend I'm planning a trip to either Århus or Esbjerg. If I go to Århus, it will be with the exchange students here in Skive and if I go to Esbjerg I'll be visiting Neha again and one other student. I'm not so sure what we'll be doing yet, maybe just hanging out at a cafe and going out at night.
Aaaand the next weekend is the introcamp for the new inbound exchange students!! :O That means I'll be an 'oldie.' So just like how the last oldies came to our introcamp back in August, I'll be coming to the newbie introcamp with a bunch of other exchange students! I might be coming the first Sunday and the last Friday to Sunday of camp, but I don't have concrete plans yet. I am so excited though!! It will be another chance to meet so many other exchange students from around the world!
One or two weeks after that is winter break and then it's back to Copenhagen with the host family to see a musical! :D
So that's what I have planned so far for the next several weeks, but you know how things change!

New Years Fun!!

So I was crazy enough to plan a trip all by myself to Copenhagen for the week leading up to New Years. And I would like to tell you how that went!
After all the crazyness of Christmas was over, I figured I needed to have a little more fun! On Monday, December 27, I took the train to Esbjerg to spend the night with another exchange student friend, Neha. Upon arriving in Esbjerg, she took me out to see the town where she lives. It is such a pretty place, with many restaurants, pubs, shopping streets, a skating rink, the harbor, etc. The next day we spent some time with her host family as they showed me around some more. We went to the fishing museum (Esbjerg is famous for their fishing business), then to see the 4 white men. I'll post pictures once I get them from Neha. They were absolutely HUGE!!
After a little sightseeing in Esbjerg, Neha and I took the train to Copenhagen. Once there, we met up with two other friends, Emily and Claude. I went to Emily's house and Neha went to Claude's house to get ready for a party. The party was for a bunch of other exchange students, so it was really fun!
The next day we just relaxed and then took the bus through Copenhagen and back to their houses for dinner. On Thursday, Emily took me into Copenhagen to see the city and then we went to see a movie at the theater. Afterward, we walked around Copenhagen again and down the main shopping street, Strøget. We met up with another exchange student from Brazil and just hung out at a little cafe.
On Friday, my friends and I relaxed most of the day before getting ready to go out for New Years. We all went to Emily's host sister's house for a little party. At midnight, we all jumped- it means that you are in the air between two years. It was pretty cool! After that we went outside to shoot off fireworks. Even though we weren't right in Copenhagen, there were still sooooo many fireworks around us and it was so loud and bright!!
On Saturday, we relaxed some more, then went into Copenhagen again. Because Neha is from India, we decided to take her to an Indian restaurant. We met up with another exchange student from India, Janhavi. After dinner we walked down Strøget again to see what stores had the best sales! :P We went to a pub also and just talked and were hyggelig. :) The next day, Sunday, we all went to Strøget one last time before catching the train back home. Oh, and we randomly saw a cosplaying convention at the train station in Copenhagen. Random. :D I'll be coming back to Copenhagen with my host family in January and then again in February, so I'm pretty excited!!
Well, when I got home, I opened my package from home!! My host mom was fascinated in reading the newspaper that was packed inside. ;D And school was canceled today because of problems with the heating!!!! yayyyyyy :D So I'm just relaxing, updating the blog, and later I'm going to get a haircut and go to the Rotary meeting.

Christmas!!! :)
Hej!
I have been celebrating Christmas now for the past few days and thought it would be nice to share my adventures!
So it all started on Wednesday when the first of three host brothers, Johan, came home from Copenhagen. Next came Anders, then finally on Friday morning came Tomas. On Thursday, my first host mom and sister came over for a visit and to drop off my Christmas gift. We sat and ate little Christmas treats and talked. It was so nice to see them again! Later we ate lunch and then I went in to Skive with Johan and Anders. Johan and I went skating (Anders can't skate xD), then we went to the store to buy food for dinner. It is so different having brothers, especially older brothers!! On Friday, we had Christmas lunch with the whole family! In Denmark, Christmas is really celebrated on the 24th. So we had a Christmas dinner that night- goose, duck, potatoes, red cabbage, and pork. For dessert we ate 'ris a la mande.' It is basically a rice pudding with chopped almonds and cherry sauce on top. It is sooo delicious!! There was a whole almond hidden inside and whoever found it won a gift. Well, I found the almond, so I received a whole package of candy!! :D After dessert, we all gathered around the Christmas tree and sang carols while dancing around the tree. Then we sat down to open gifts. One person would pick out a gift and give it to the recipient, then after they open their gift, that person would pick out another gift and so on. In the middle of opening gifts, we started a skype session with one of my other host brothers, Markus, who is currently in Brazil on exchange. We talked to him and asked how he is doing on Christmas in Brazil. Tomas had also been an exchange student to Brazil, so sometimes he would start speaking Portuguese with Markus' host mom. It was really cool for me, being an exchange student from America skyping with my host brother who is in Brazil!! Markus also got to see that his cat is now best friends with me. :) So, we finished opening gifts after that. When we were done, my host brothers and I went to watch the Ricky Gervais standup comedy DVD that Anders got as a gift. xD
On Saturday, that was interesting because I woke up with the feeling that I needed to rush downstairs and wake everyone up so we could open gifts!! hahahaha But then I remember I'm in Denmark and therefore we had already opened our gifts! :P So I just ate breakfast and got ready to go to my first host family's house to have Christmas dinner. My host mom drove me to the Jørgensen's house at about 2:30 pm. When I got there, we all had coffee together and just talked and it was so hyggelig! They had recently adopted a little kitten and she's sooooo cute!! I met Marianne Jørgensen's little brother and his family. I also was super excited to see Piste og Bedstefar (Grandmother and Grandfather) again!! So we just hung out and were hyggelig until it was time to eat. We ate 'julefrokost' (Christmas lunch). It was actually dinner time, but it's called lunch because the food is more like lunch food. We had bread with all kinds of toppings; herring, leverpostej, lochs, and a lot of other toppings that I can't remember the names of. :O I even tried a traditional snaps, while shouting the traditional ¨SKÅL!¨ (cheers!) We stayed up until about 12:30 just talking and drinking.... coffee. :P I slept in my host sister's room that night with the little kitten trying to attack my hands!
The next day I hung out with my host mom and sister and watched Hannah Montana the movie! :D At around 2pm they drove me back home. And well, that's about it for now. Tonight I have another Christmas dinner with my current host family! hahahahaahaha just one more!! Tomorrow I'm off to Esbjerg, then to Copenhagen on Tuesday until Sunday! I'll write shortly after. :)
