December, Christmas, and New Year Plans

Hej!

So I have been all moved into my new house for a while now. The new family is nice and we have plans to travel to Copenhagen to visit the other three sons. Now that it's December, Christmas has been the top priority lately! I am so excited to celebrate Christmas here- everyone is so excited for it!! I have already received a couple cards and I'm just waiting for the packages! ;D I have certainly sent out some hefty packages, with a total of 626 kroner for shipping!! (that's a little over 100 dollars)......

Anywho, I have had so much fun going skating, sledding, and to cafes with my friends during my free time. We had a Christmas party last Friday for all schools in the Skive area, and a Christmas dinner with my class on Saturday. Tonight I'm going to the movies with my language school friends. I have also been busy helping my host mom bake Christmas goodies. I have learned so many nice Danish Christmas desserts and yeah, they taste delicious! ;D The holiday vacation from school started last Friday (17/12), so now I finally have time to make gifts for all my friends and family here!!

So, my plans for the Christmas and New Year start on the 24th. And they're crazy! So, Christmas Eve, we open presents and sing carols by the Christmas tree. Christmas Day I'm going to my first host family's house to have Christmas dinner with their whole family- that should be fun!! hahahaha! I will be staying the night there and coming back home on the 26th. I have another Christmas dinner with my current host family and then leave for Esbjerg on the 27th. I'll be staying with another exchange student friend there and then traveling to Copenhagen the next day! I will stay there until January 2, so we'll be celebrating New Year there!! I am so excited for that and to be with a whole bunch of friends that I don't get to see very often! It will also be my first time in Copenhagen besides when I flew in there on August 1! So I'm hoping to do a little sightseeing, a trip to Tivoli, and just some nice relaxing and festivities with my best friends!

That's my latest activity, I'll be sure to write again after the holidays!

Venlighilsen,
Sarah

I have added some videos from a popular Danish Christmas T.V. show below. It is called The Julekalender and they speak English and Danish in the show, totally at random. It's so funny!
